@jumar1281 Its a bit of a red herring to simply blame poor people. They shouldn't shoulder most of the blame here. In the movie, its clear? that even educated, professional people who review loans for a LIVING couldn't get a grip on these financial instruments.

one thing that pisses me off about the whole subprime thing is the sheer ignorance of poor people. i guess its because the way i was raised, and my parents always instilling in me "if something is too good to be true,? don't fall for it" and "never buy things you can't afford". But this common sense goes right over the heads of the people who fell for this shit. I grew up poor, my dad drove a taxi his whole life, but even he knew the basic rules of life

I just saw this movie at the Beverly Hills Music Hall theatre. Believe it or not, you should see this film? at a theatre because it's a good looking film. It was either shot on film or on very good quality video.

One of the most fucked up about these kinds of deals is that the lender can raise premiums as they see fit. Whether it's mortgages or other bank loans, or insurance on health or auto, they can arbitrary raise your premiums without any notice. How is this? legal? Why do we, The People, put up with this fraud? Over time they make you pay more and give you less in return. Everyone has to experience this. It's absurd. It's irrational. It's a Crime Against Humanity.

Yeah, great detail about the reality that is largely going unreported. I really liked the way Jonathan put it - they were either inconceivably stupid and? coincidentally created this scheme, or they did it on purpose. In other words, everyone involved is either literally retarded or a criminal - and we didn't demand their resignations or jail time, we gave them the bailout. The next question is, what does that say about those who gave the bailouts? Too stupid to run a country, or too criminal?
