I think they should take those huge buildings and turn them into large indoor flea markets where people could rent a 100 sq. foot stall to sell burritos and such. Rent would be $50.00 a month.

@SanatanUnity You speak the truth! Norton was a shot to the chin, but also the collapse of rail traffic also was a terrible blow. Berdo is a railroad town, some of the largest RR assembly yards are located in Berdo. RR have been contracting for years and that hurt the city badly.

It wasn't overbuilding. 10/20 years ago this was a thriving center. When Norton AFB closed it was a massive economic contracture. Since then it's simply economic holocaust. San Bernardino area is completely blighted. There's a thriving homeless mentally ill population however. Word down the years was San Diego and LA counties would dump their problem people in the Inland Empire for Patton State Hospital to house... until the LPS pt's were streamlined into the general pop thanks to Reagan.

Glad I moved out in 08 when I did back to the east coast. Its sad because I used to love living there. But once my hospital I worked for turned inward by bringing in consultents pd 6 figures to find outr who they could get rid of i knew it was time to go. As long as you dont get sick ur healkthcare is low as soon as u do it skyrockets....
